Wastewater Treatment plant for restoration of Aziz Bhatti Park

The Aziz Bhatti Park is located near federal Urdu university on university road in Gulshan-E-Iqbal Karachi, Sindh. The Park is named Major Aziz Bhatti shaheed Nishan e Hyder. The Aziz Bhatti Park was developed in 1972 by Karachi Development Authority (KDA) and handed over to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) in 1992.

The park has 37 acres land but only 7 to 8 acres area is developed as park and remaining is still plain ground due to acute shortage of water. There is also a natural lake in park, which is turned over as the dumping site for wastewater of colonies due to shortage of freshwater recharge.

On the directions of his Excellency Governor Sindh wastewater treatment plant is designed and constructed park areas on the request and funding of Pakistan Customs to treat and recycles one lack gallons wastewater per day to restore the ecological status of natural lake and cultivation of remaining areas of park. Raw water is taken from underground sewerage line which is crossing 300 meters beside Bhatti Park.

  • Construction of 6 dia 100 rft underground drainage line
  • Construction of 10x10x12 feet grit Chamber
  • Pumping station
  • 100 meters 16mm electric cable with star delta starter
  • 10HP water pump
  • 100 meters 4” dia underground delivery line from Pump house treatment unit
  • Construction of 4 Settler Tanks
  • Construction of Anaerobic Baffle reactor tanks
  • Construction of two filters bed
  • Construction of One lake gallon capacity collection tank
  • Installation of 70meter 6” dia underground overflow line to recharge the lake
  • Construction of 800 cft PCC Inspections paths
